In what time zone will the conference take place?
Times for live-sessions will be listed in U.S. time zones and we created a schedule that will allow access to at least part of the live schedule from all corners of the world. You can use Free Time Zone Converter http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com to determine what time a session will take place wherever you are based.
What will I learn?
In the first online Accessible Yoga Conference, we are bringing together 40+ inspirational yoga and accessibility experts from around the world who will share their expertise on making yoga accessible. You will learn about yoga history, yoga philosophy, yoga and race justice, adapting yoga for specific populations, trauma-informed yoga, making meditation accessible, yoga for pain management, consent and empowerment in yoga, and more!
What is the registration cost?
Conferences are the primary source of income for Accessible Yoga and conference registrations are what help us remain viable to continue our mission and vision of service. We are committed to a culture of fair pay for our presenter’s time and knowledge. We are also committed to our Scholarship Program, offering full support to those who apply and qualify. We are able to do this through conference registration and the generous support of our donors.
We believe in financial accessibility and acknowledge the current state of the world when considering the value of this conference. Thereby, we are offering the following tiered pricing options, so that you can choose the level of registration you are most comfortable with. When selecting your level, we ask that you acknowledge your privilege and commit to paying what is honest and fair for your personal background, economic, and employment status. We are also offering an opportunity for you to support Accessible Yoga with an additional donation or extend your generosity to a scholarship recipient through the Donor Level, which will pay for your ticket and one scholarship recipient to attend.

What currency are the prices in?
What is the deadline for registering?
Registration will be open throughout the weekend of the conference and will close at the end of the day October 11th, 2020. Once registered, all attendees will receive full access to the conference platform and all session recordings until October 11th, 2021.
Where will the conference be held?
This is an online conference, over three days, October 9-11th, 2020. You can attend from the comfort of your desired location. The conference will take place in a learning management system that will be accessible by a computer or mobile device web browser. Sessions will take place on Zoom. The learning management system will provide links and easy navigation to each session.
Can I register for just one session?
No, you are asked to register for the whole conference.
What language will the conference be in?
The conference will be offered in English.
What are the hardware requirements to attend?
You need a computer (or mobile device) that is connected to the internet and capable of playing audio. Computers should have sufficient RAM to handle streaming video. We recommend that you close other applications that use a lot of RAM during the conference.
What are the software requirements to attend?
You need an up-to-date web browser of your choice. We recommend you install all operating system updates prior to the conference. You will need to download Zoom before the conference begins: https://zoom.us/download.
What are the network (internet) requirements to attend?
Like most things online, your conference experience will be optimized if you have a stable and high speed internet connection. If your wifi is spotty, you may want to use a hard-wired internet connection during the conference. We recommend that you close any other apps on your computer or mobile device that are using internet bandwidth during the conference.
How will I interact with speakers?
During workshops and panels, you will be able to ask questions to speakers by typing them right into the Q&A and/or chat feature. Session moderators will share as many questions with the speakers at the end of each workshop or as time allows.
Will I be able to connect with other participants?
The AYC Community page will include a discussion board where you can join text-based group discussions. There you will discover threads to introduce yourself, find other participants in your area, ask questions about the conference, and participate in topic-related Community Networking threads.
What should I do if I witness inappropriate behavior?
We take the well-being and comfort of all participants seriously as per our Code of Conduct. If you witness activity in violation of this code during the conference, or receive an inappropriate or harassing private message, please message the session administrator immediately or email [email protected]
Will there be an opportunity to stay connected with fellow attendees after the conference?
You will have access to the Community Page of the conference until October 11th, 2021. We also encourage you to join our Accessible Yoga Community Facebook Group and follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
Will sessions be available to watch online after the recording?
Recordings of live sessions will be available to watch in the Archives within 24 hours of the live session. All recordings will be available to registrants for one year post conference (October 11th, 2021).
Will I be identified on recordings post the event?
Anything that is made public during the event, such as you commenting in the chat of a session, will be available in the recordings. Recordings will only be made available to those who purchased a ticket.
What services are available for accessibility?
Closed Captioning will be available using Otter.ai. For any other accessibility service requests, please contact [email protected] by October 1st, 2020.
Can I earn Continuing Education Credits?
Yes, the conference will be worth 22 Continuing Education Credits, recognized by both Yoga Alliance and International Association of Yoga Therapists. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Yoga Alliance will accept these 22 hours as contact hours.
CEUs will apply to both live and recorded sessions- attendance at the live sessions is not required.
If you are interested in receiving CEUs, you can purchase the CEU add-on for a processing fee of $25 at the time of registration. If you are already registered and need to make the purchase, please click here. Instructions to register your CEUs will be emailed to you after the conference.
Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
If you choose to purchase the Continuing Education Credits, you will have an option to generate and print and certificate by following the instructions provided after the conference.
Can my organization become a conference sponsor?
Yes! We rely on the charitable contributions of our Conference Sponsors, who directly support our Scholarship Program, helping us make the conference financially accessible. Sponsorships are tax deductible and not only support a good cause, but help to raise awareness about your company to conference attendees and the global community of Accessible Yoga followers. Are there scholarships available to cover registration costs?
Yes! We are committed to financial accessibility and do not intend to turn anyone away for lack of funds. A simple application is required to receive scholarship funds. You will be able to choose whether you need a full or partial scholarship, and, if partial, in what amount. Applications to apply for scholarships close Wednesday, October 7th at 7pm (19:00) Pacific Time.
What if I am busy the weekend of the conference?
If you can't attend the live sessions over the weekend of October 9-11th, no problem! All sessions are being recorded. You just need to register before Sunday, October 11th and you will have access to the recordings for a full year - watch anywhere, anytime! And you can still earn CEUs from the recordings!
